 Dear Parents/Guardians,

Your daughter may have been telling you that she was drawing a Christmas picture in class – even though it’s still October.  For Christmas this year we are getting involved in ‘Christmas Cards For Schools’.  What’s involved is this – each child draws a Christmas picture on a special page.  This page is then sent away to be reproduced onto a card with her name and school printed on the back.

In November each girl gets a sample of her card to take home.  If parents so wish, packs of the cards can be bought.  A percentage of the charge goes to the school and the rest towards the company who produces the cards.

Red Cross Refugee Appeal:

Thanks to all who generously donated to our recent ‘no uniform day’.  A cheque for €461.46 has been sent to the Irish Red Cross Refugee fund.

Our “Halloween” fun day takes place on Friday next 23rd.  Infants and 1st class may come to school dressed in their costume – but please leave all magic wands, brooms, tridents etc. at home.  All other classes will get dressed in their outfits at lunchtime.

As I told you, all money collected goes towards activities for the children.  If your daughter has not yet returned her card please send it in tomorrow.

Shoebox Appeal:

Please return boxes no later than Tuesday, November 3rd.

School closed for mid-term from Monday, October 26th

Friday, October 30th  incl.

Green Schools Recycling Competition

There was a great response to our ‘Green Schools’ recycling competition.  Thank you and well done to all who took part and helped out at home.  Great effort and creativity went into each piece.  Prize winners will be announced later this week – it’s a tough job picking winners.
