Bookbills:  Bookbills will be given out over the next few days.  If you wish to order your books through the school, you must pay before the holidays.  Otherwise you will have to purchase books yourself during the holidays.  The difference between availing of the school rental scheme and buying the books yourself can be great especially in the older classes.

Please note: All pupils must pay the school section of the bill, even if buying the books themselves.

Active School Week 15th – 19th June

Next week is our Active Schools week and we will be getting moving – tennis coaching, soccer blitz, walk-a-mile, skipathon, GAA blitz and a Summer Olympics!

The girls can wear their school P.E. gear all week and they will be getting ‘P.E. homework’.  We hope this will help encourage them to value and enjoy exercise and keep active for life.

School reports will be given out next week.  Please take time to read the report and take note of recommendations/comments by the teacher.  Your daughter’s teacher has worked with your child for the past year and has put a lot of time/effort into each report.

I have been asked by the County Library Service to encourage you to get your daughter to join the Summer Reading Challenge at the library.  It’s an initiative run during the holidays aimed at promoting reading and use of libraries during the summer holidays.  It is open to children from age 6 to 12.

Another local amenity which is a low cost option during the holidays is the Tennis Club.  Many varied activities are run during the holidays.

There are many items – cardigans, lunchboxes etc. left unclaimed.  Please get your daughter to check the ‘lost property’ box if you think she has lost/mislaid any items.

Please ensure all rented books and library books are returned to the school before the holidays.

Duffy’s Drapery have asked us to inform you that the last day for ordering of school tracksuits is June 27th.

As we are coming to the end of the school year and preparing for the next I ask you to let Fiona know of any change of address/phone nos so that your details can be kept up to date.

Signed:- Anne Kennelly
