Scoil Mhuire Lourdes

Tullow, Co.Carlow

02 December 2014

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Monday next, December 8th is a Church Holy Day – the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.  We will all attend the 11.30a.m. mass in the Parish Church on that day.

Dogs are not allowed on school grounds, even on a lead.  Pet dogs have been fouling the yard area recently.  This presents a safety hazard for the children.

Hair Hygiene

Please ensure your daughter’s hair is properly tied up/back to ensure she doesn’t pick up headlice.  This is a constant problem in girls school.  However, the problem can be eliminated if due care is taken – try to prevent the problem by keeping hair tied up.  If infestation does occur, treat the problem immediately.

St. Vincent de Paul Sale is on Thursday, 4th December. There will be a sale of toys, games, books, bags etc., all second-hand for the children.  A sale of buns/cakes and biscuits/popcorn will also be offered.  If any parent is willing to bake, you are welcome to send in these on Thursday morning.

Christmas Annuals

For anyone who wishes to buy a Folens Christmas Annual last day to buy is Tuesday 9th December.

Signed:- Anne Kennelly

 Note re. Stephanie Roche

Stephanie Roche is an Irish lady footballer whose goal has been chosen as one of the top 3 goals by F.I.F.A.  This is an outstanding achievement for any footballer – and extra special because she is an Irish woman playing in what is typically considered a man’s game.  Stephanie’s goal will be chosen as No. 1 if it gets enough votes.  I encourage as many as possibly to vote for her.  To vote go to fifa.com/puskásaward.  If you want to vote more than once disable cookies or use another device.
