Dear Parents/Guardians,

Recent Collections

Sincere and heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to our recent charity fundraising.

  1.  103  Christmas Shoeboxes were collected after mid-term break.  These will bring happiness and joy to 103 children at Christmas who, otherwise, might have had very little else to look forward to.

  1.  We sent off a cheque for €850 to Unicef to help victims of the  typhoon disaster in the Philippines. €250 of this was raised by Grace Maher (4th) who sold her woollen jewellery, bookmarks etc. to the pupils. Well done everybody especially to Grace.

  1.  The sale last week raised €1283 for the St. Vincent de Paul.  We are most grateful to everyone who donated in any way – especially the homemade “goddies”.  The range of cakes, buns and cupcakes was amazing.  A sincere thanks to Mrs. Garahy and 6th class who put in so much work to make the sale a success.  The money will be presented to St. Vincent de Paul before Christmas.

The junior classes are busy preparing for their Christmas concerts.

4th class are performing next Sunday night in Mount Wolseley at 7p.m. and also on Thursday 19th in the Church.

5th class put on an amazing performance of “Santa on Strike” last night.

Our school mass and concert is on Wednesday 18th.

Please Note: This mass and concert is for the pupils only.

Jane (lollipop lady) has asked that people not park on the zig-zag lines near the gate.  By parking on those lines Jane’s view is restricted and pupils lives are being put in danger.

School will finish at 12 noon on Friday December 20th and reopen on Monday January 6th 2014.  As January 6th is a Church holiday we will be attending mass in the Parish Church at 11.30 a.m.

On my own behalf and on behalf of the staff and Board of Management I would like to wish each one of you a happy and peaceful Christmas and sincere good wishes for the new year.

Signed:- Anne Kennelly
